Amoré by the Sea is a luxury, romantic, oceanfront getaway known for its high quality and fantastic location.

Voted "Most Romantic Hideaway 2006", Amoré is located on a pristine stretch of sand and pebble beach, an easy 20
minutes from the heart of downtown Victoria. With miles of seascape to gaze at and the fresh salt air to breathe.
Amoré by the Sea is located on Vancouver Island on Victoria's West Shore. It is situated on 1.5 acres of oceanfront
property in a quiet, secluded semi-rural area. They are at the southern end of a 3 mile beach that is perfect for
exploring and enjoying.
"Peaceful seclusion" are words that describe Amoré well. The gentle waves and occasional calls of birds are the
prevailing sounds here. Wildlife abounds in the ocean and on shore - much to the delight of visitors.
There are many beaches and hiking/biking trails nearby, as well as wonderful restaurants and unique shopping and
sights. Victoria's beautiful Inner Harbour is only 20 minutes' drive away.

Staff Comment - We have motion sensor lighting and times in all public and private areas where they can be efficiently
used. We are in the process of changing over all our light bulbs to energy efficient bulbs. All new appliances are
energy star. New furnace was installed Sept. 08 that is energy efficient with an energy star rating. Main heating
system is controlled with an automatic thermostat set lower for the night. Unused rooms are not heated or are set
at a minimum (so not to freeze in the winter). 2008 we installed 8 solar panels that heat our relaxation pool.
Our B&B is not only designed to take advantage of our views but also the passive solar gain from our long days
in our Canadian summer. Guests are made aware of all our energy saving programs through our website and in room
information books.

Staff Comment - Amore by the Sea guests accommodations are comfortable and pleasing to the senses. The Bed and
Breakfast was not only designed to take advantage of our panoramic views, but also the passive solar gain from our
long days in the Canadian summer. Our toilets are all low water flush, to conserve additional water. Our shower
heads are aerated shower heads. We only use our dishwasher when it is full. And our washing machine is energy
efficient and again, we only use it when we have a full load. We have cards in all the rooms explaining that the
sheets, towels, robes etc. will be replaced only upon request. And we ask guests to join us in our water saving
program. We water our gardens in the early morning and sprinklers are set on timers to make sure we do not over
water. All faucets and toilets are checked frequently to make sure there are no drips or running toilets.

Staff Comment - We do not use plastic or paper dinnerware, cups, or serving utensils, only glass and ceramic which
can be washed and reused. We only buy in bulk to avoid excess packaging. We have recycling bins in all guest rooms
and encourage guests to use the bins for their cans, bottles, newspapers, cardboard, etc.

Staff Comment - At Amore by the Sea we inform guests of our eco-philosophy, as well as how they can help us
maintain a low footprint in our seaside area. We donate all unwanted items to a local charity. We walk our
beach often doing a ‘clean up’ and encourage our neighbors to participate. We put out a online newsletter quarterly
informing our guests of our ‘green polices’.

Staff Comment - We promote local attraction, restaurants and amenities to our guests and use local suppliers and
companies for everything possible. We respect our surrounding and do our best to reduce our carbon footprint.
Guests in informed about our buy local policy and our environmentally friendly practices which we advertise on our
website.
