Peuma Hue means “Place of Dreams” in the native Mapuche language and it is very easy to see why. From the first time you lay eyes on the structure you know you are somewhere special, an idyllic environment in which the natural beauty of this area can be enjoyed to its fullest.
A lot of work has been done to preserve the local forest; this was the first mission when Peuma Hue was first envisioned. A recycled log cabin provided a great starting point for the creation of the ranch and the foundation stone for this vision which now includes a mountain cabin, two log cabins, the barn, the carpentry, a boat house and a meeting room.
The work around the property continues to organically evolve and the staff takes great pride in maintaining the land, garden, greenhouse and numerous hiking trails that allow guests full immersion in a rich natural environment where numerous species of birds, Patagonian hares, wild boars and trout live happily in harmony with the lodge.

Staff Comment - We have a mixture of the above. We are very small in capacity (8 rooms and 2 log cabins). Being in the middle of the National Park, we not only have to abide with all the Nature conservancy policies the Park Administration enforce but also we keep adding each year - and according to our economic resources and technical devices at hand in the area - measures to protect the environment, which was in our goal from the very start.
Our next investment includes changing our energy resources into renewable energy, which at the time we started wasn't in our reach. Although we do have a written mention of water conservancy, it is in our everyday conversation with staff and guests the protection of mother Earth.

Staff Comment - Although we are within one of the most important water sources in the World, where you can still drink safely our pristine, abundant and unpolluted water from most of the waterfalls, creeks and rivers, we take all the measures not to soil the water by using natural filtering process before it reaches our lake and creeks.
We enhance our guests awareness of this pristine area by encouraging the unique experience of drinking untreated and unpolluted waters from natural sources.

Staff Comment - Yes, but we do not have it written. Everybody just knows it and with guests comes into conversations all the time. And to our Nature protection awareness we add our Socially Responsible measures that are in our hands, favoring teams and associations that enhance socially responsible, environmental protection and sustainable businesses.
Our very intimate and warm atmosphere fosters all our guests to share into common conversations in the evenings and activities throughout the day that always bring up awareness on environmental, sustainable and responsible issues.
