Enjoy the splendid Mediterranean settings, far away from civilization and close to the warm hospitality of the Barons Coffari di Gilferraro, last descendants of one of the oldest Sicilian feudal families. The lodge is a modern conversion of the ancient family winery, and is located in the Mount Etna Nature Park, at the foothills of Europe’s largest active volcano. The volcano is presently active and when in full eruption it makes a slendid site to be admired in the safety of the lodge.

Guests are hosted in the North Wing and South Wing rooms of a beautifully renovated XIX century building which offers all modern days commodities including a private hot water boiler, central heating, and a washing machine.

At the second floor of the XIIX century North Wing of the Palmento di Gilferraro there are three recently renovated cozy double rooms each with bath en suite. The view is toward the Mediterranean Sea or the mountains. The south wing room features an entrance with a large wardrobe, a bed room and a bathroom. It accommodates 2 guests and if needed a baby cot.

The structure is is close to Piedimonte Etneo, a rural village of Sicily not far from Taormina and the Mediterranean Sea. The view stretches from the coast of Calabria, to Taormina and to the seaport Riposto, and to Mount Etna. The nearest beach is 8 km downhill.
