Kasbah du Toubkal
The Kasbah du Toubkal is an extraordinary venture, the product of an imaginative Berber and European partnership.
There is a shared belief that the beauty of the Toubkal National Park should be accessible to all who respect it.
To this end the Kasbah has been transformed using traditional methods, from the home of a Feudal Caid into an
unprecedented haven. As Condé Nast Traveller stated ‘... with the best rooftop views in North Africa…this is the
country’s first and foremost mountain retreat ...’.
Situated above the village of Imlil and in view of the highest mountain in North Africa the setting is exceptional -
Martin Scorsese used it as a set for his film on the Dalai Lama.

Staff Comment - We have energy saving light bulbs and use some solar heating for hot water systems
Water Rating: ★★★ (3)
Staff Comment - We also have our own water system which means all waste water after treatment is return to
the same water basin that it was taken from originally.

Staff Comment - We also encourage the use of our own spring water than is also filtered for added security
rather than the use of plastic water bottles. We have also instigated a rubbish collection and disposal
system in the village.

Staff Comment - We have been responsible for the local Tourism code and are members of Green Globe
certification program. We have information in the rooms in relation to sheet and towel washing.
We have also set up 2 NGO in for the local community one is involved in providing college education for
girls from the rural community. The other provides an ambulance and rubbish clearance to the local
community and a hammam (public baths) for the local village.
