Latitude 10 Resort

Latitude 10 Resort was built as a private resort and is now available to the public. As the winner of the 2008 Grand Award in the International Class for second homes, the resort leaves nothing to be desired in luxury and elegance in its natural setting, providing interaction with the jungle and its beachfront location. Staying at Latitude 10 is like staying with good friends at their luxury beach house. You will experience personalized service and attention to detail in a relaxed, yet classy atmosphere.

The resort consists of five spacious free standing, individually decorated and private casitas. Each casita has its own tropical décor, situated on over seven acres of private beachfront property located near the bustling beach town of Santa Teresa on the Southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica.

The Premium Junior Suite, two Junior Suites and two Master Suites are surrounded by a mixture of jungle and exuberant landscape. At night the constant crashing of waves will sing you to sleep and the tropical morning sounds will wake you in the morning. Ample and inviting, each of the bungalows has a different concept and vibe.

Overall Rating: ★★★★ (4)

Energy Rating: ★★★★ (4)
Staff Comment - At this moment, Latitude 10 Resort has important practices to reduce the energy using. Like energy efficient lighting throughout the hotel, our rooms do not include air condition but ceiling fans, which is enough to assure the comfort for our guests. Our management and staff have been trained on energy saving techniques and practices; we encourage our guests and staff to use natural light as much as possible, and to turn off lights and fans when they don’t need them.

Water Rating: ★★★★ (4)
Staff Comment - At Latitude 10 Resort, we have implemented several measures to reduce our consumption of water. Our plants are native to Costa Rica and the area, thereby reducing our water consumption substantially, we have our own water source that comes from a water well, all of our cleaning and personal products offered to guests are biodegradable, we have information for guests about water saving techniques (including a linen and towel re-use program). Additionally, all of our staff has gone through extensive training on water saving techniques and practices.

Disposal Rating: ★★★★ (4)
Staff Comment - We are working on a rigorous recycling program. The different areas of the hotel, including rooms, Clubhouse and back of the house are equipped with recycling bins, and all the employees have received extensive training on waste management and recycling practices. We area doing a great effort not to bring any unnecessary packaging and potential waste to the resort, and by not having a restaurant we eliminate a big amount of waste.

Eco-Active Rating: ★★★★ (4)
Staff Comment - Latitude 10 Resort makes a great effort on educating its guests on the importance of sustainability and on involving them with the local community. We encourage our guests to learn more about our conservation efforts and, more importantly, how they can have a more sustainable future. We also encourage our staff to apply the sustainable practices in their houses. Latitude 10 recycle much of its own waste, minimizes the generation of waste by reducing consumption and all the waste are classified and labelled in the different garbage bins throughout the resort.

Protection Rating: ★★★★★ (5)
Staff Comment - We are working towards conservation, education of guest, staff and community development. We are also committed to raising awareness and educating our guests in the different local cultures and the impact that their presence may have. In addition to maintaining natural areas that are dedicated to conservation, we will also work to support local education and community development projects. Our local staffs receive trainings in the areas related with sustainability good practices.
