L'Ayalga Posada Ecológica
This beautiful centennial house was restored using the very best environmental principles. The owners were determined to use only the best possible ecological materials available to them and their "green" principles can be seen in every little detail of this building: Lime mortar was used to allow the house to "breathe", white cement instead of gray as its free of slag from the blast furnaces, woods treated with natural oils, recycling gray water systems, rain water collection and even solar panel heating.
There are five guest bedrooms each one unique but all with the same level of luxury comfort that includes: latex mattresses, down filled duvets and pillows and 100% cotton bed linens and towels. A number of relaxing activities are available to guests including massages and Tai-chi or Chi-kung lessons
There is also a library where you will find books and magazines on ecology, human rights, healthy living, naturopathy and of course literature. If you feel like you can also learn how to make fruit preserves, cleaning products or cosmetics using only natural products.

Staff Comment - We Insolated with natural matirials. We heat the water by solar panels. We minimise energy use by using energy efficient light bulbs and appliances and turning off lights and appliances when not in use.

Staff Comment - We have showers and half flush toilets to reduce water use. We have a laundry scheme where we only change towels and sheets after 6/7 days or when guests request them. We use biodegradable/eco cleaning products some of them are made by us

Staff Comment - . We compost all of our food and garden waste. We recycle glass, plastic and paper and have facilities for our guests to recycle their waste too.

Staff Comment - We suckle the asturian horse (Asturcon), they are in extinction. We run a recycled and waste paper .We give our guests leaflets and information about the conservation of the natural environment and encourage them to use public transport. We currently support four organizations, all of them working either for human rights, helping poor countries, ecology movements or underprivileged children. We invite you to take a gesture of solidarity by donating 1% of the price of your room to one of them.
We cultivate our garden without the use of pesticides and fertilisers, we have accreditation of organic agriculture

Staff Comment - We only buy in local market,. We encourage our guests to visit local attractions (example etnographics attractions like “museum of Porrua”, if the level of Spanish is high to visit la “ruta del queso y la sidra” . “museum of Asturcon” “ jardin de los aromas” we give information about attractions what know the rural life and help to improve sustainably rural living . If the our guest want to eat out we recommend local restaurants. If they want to buy a gift we have craft and local produces made by locals craftsmen. We also encourage our guests to use public transport or local services, when the our guest haven´t car we give then the timetables of train and the telephone of taxis and we help them to organize their trips use the train (visit to Oviedo, Gijón).
