Playa Viva

Playa Viva is a sustainable boutique hotel located 30 minutes from Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa on 200 acres land with almost a mile of pristine beach front. 85% of the project is a private reserve with mangrove, turtle sanctuary, archaeological site, estuary and ocean front. While accommodations are ecological in nature, guests enjoy a luxurious experience proving that both can coexist in harmony. Playa Viva is off-grid with 100% solar energy. The initial 5 rooms all have unobstructed view of the ocean and are outfitted with organic sheets, towel and pillows. All materials are locally sourced and employees are from local community.

Staff Comment - All staff is hired locally. Kitchen staff is encouraged to source materials locally from milk and cheese to eggs and meats. We promote organic agriculture and have an onsite farm. We promote local businesses rather than provide the services ourselves from local tourism (boat rides, fishing, horseback riding) to promoting local businesses (salt, coconut candies, etc.). Part of our mission is to promote economic development in the local community.
