Rekero Camp Masai Mara
Amidst the teeming mass of wildlife in the Masai Mara area, Rekero's tented camp is set inside the Masai Mara Game reserve,
very close to where the Mara and Talek rivers meet. This mobile camp is ideally situated for the annual migration of
over one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand zebra from the Serengeti through to the Masai Mara in Kenya.
The Camp is set up seasonally (June - October, December - March) and caters for up to fourteen guests.
Gerard and Rainee Beaton along with their partner Jackson Ole Looseyia own and host this unique camp.
Their team of professional Masai safari guides and camp crew have worked together for years,
providing guests with an in-depth and truly memorable Masai Mara experience.

Staff Comment - We are a tented camp that has solar generated electricity to power lighting that runs
on energy efficient low -wattage bulbs. This is supplemented by a generator that runs for a maximum of 4
hours per day to power energy efficient freezers and fridges.
Water Rating: ★★★★ (4)
Staff Comment - We use "bucket" showers that minimise the use of water. All linen and towels are only changed
every 3 days. There is no running water in the tents. This keeps useage down to a minimum

Staff Comment - All waste is disposed of "off-site" It is separated accordingly - glass and plastic recycled and
other items are places in land-fill sites.

Staff Comment - We have a bronze eco-rating. We have our own charity that receives donations from clients
after their awareness is raised about projects we are involved in.
Protection Rating: ★★ (2)
Staff Comment - Where possible we buy local produce. Over 90 % of our staff are from the local area and have
been for the past 20 years.
