The Rosalie Forest Eco Lodge is a true back to nature experience. It offers a variety of cool and sustainable accommodations in incredible natural surroundings. Here you will find a wide range of natrure, adventure, and community activities including the “Sustainable Living Education” workshops. The Forest Eco Lodge offers a number of different accommodation solutions from a self-contained cottage to a mixed dormitory with bunk beds and hammocks, there are even two natural and rustic childhood dream tree houses!
The Rosalie Forest Eco Lodge came about from the idea of creating an ideal getaway, respecting the environment and working closely with the locals. The resulting property has a stunning ambiance in which a mixture of cultures offers people on any budget a unique view into the natural wonders of Dominica. In a concerned effort to minimize the environmental impact and to aid the development of the local community the Eco Lodge has gathered an excellent team of specialist local workers. Rosalie Forest Eco Lodge is now receiving a steadily growing flow of guests and is also proud to have received various eco awards for their environmental work.

Up until last year we were Green Globe certified for 4 years. However, with the take over of green globe by EC3 global,
the cost of membership has become too high.
We have also over the last few years won the american express caribbean environment award two years running,
runner up in the IHRA environmental award, ecoclub top trating, responsible travel award for best technology runner up.

Staff Comment - We use 100% renewable energy, a combination of solar hydro and wind. We run workshops through our registered NGO
teaching about sustainable living, and offer revolving loans for locals to buy their own renewable energy systems.
We use energy saving light bulbs, manual juicers and blenders. We have notices in all rooms advising customers about saving energy and have a towel and linen re-use programme to reduce energy and water usage.

Staff Comment - We use 100% biodegradeable cleaning products, 100% organic gardens, linen re-use programme, low flow faucets, rocks in flushing toilets for displacement and therefore water usage reduction., re-use grey water in gardens, collected rainwater in some parts of property. Mostly composting toilets without use of water for flushing.

Staff Comment - We compost all kitchen and garden waste, use mostly composting toilets, purchase locally where possible, and avoid large packaging, recycle bottles for our own home made drinks, and smashed glass mixed in concrete instead of stones. Separate bins in each room for composting, and four compost heaps for the garden. One shower is a recycled cracked water storage tank.

Staff Comment - We donate to many local causes, and sponsor a variety of community projects. We actively encourage all people to participate in green programmes, and donate to a fair few eco on line auctions.
Our programme of sustainable living workshops, is all about promoting eco awareness.

Staff Comment - We shop local, employ 100% local people, our community life package sends guests to the village to do real life acitvities, and the host gets the money, the guest gets a genuine experience.
We also have our home stay programme where guests can stay with families in the local villages. Many of plants are lablelled with their names and a little info, and we offer guided tours about the flora and fauna of the island.
